yoga Questions

  • Heat helps to loosen the muscles and reinforce breathing properly. Using the heat and humidity has proven to be beneficial for alleviating symptoms of a number of health concerns. It is important to note that hot yoga is not a cure-all. We embrace that our habits and life choices can vastly improve our quality of life and overall health; but we’ll also have a Panadol and trust science. Here are some studies about hot yoga:

     - Hot Yoga for Greater Wellbeing

  • Contrary to Instagram, you don’t have to be flexible to do yoga. You don’t go into a gym already looking like a bodybuilder; everything takes practice. Take lots of breaks, build up to the practice and you’ll get there in no time! The key is listening to your body.

  • Yes! You’re not being held hostage. We do encourage you to stay in the room the whole time as it is the fastest way to acclimate to the heat and going in and out can make folks feel a little nauseous. We recommend spending the first few classes or even a week just laying down in the room. But if you want to leave, ain’t no thang! :)

  • Just water, a mat and towel if you have them. We suggest shorts and a tank top, but whatever you’re most comfortable being sweaty in works too.

Contrast Recovery Questions

  • We recommend your bathers, but it is a private room, so whatever you are most comfortable in.

  • Our Contrast Recovery room is private! Both the sauna and bath can have two people at a time so if you want to bring a buddy, you’re welcome to it. This also means that you have control of your session without any distractions and are able to do as much or as little time in either as you like.

  • Going from extreme heat to extreme cold can be rather uncomfortable, though it does have a number of physical therapy benefits . We encourage you to always consult with your healthcare providers before deciding to try an ice bath, especially if you are prone to heart conditions and/or skin conditions. We do not recommend this service for pregnant people, people with open wounds/ sores/ people with hypothermia, or people who are actively sick with a cold/flu/covid.

General Questions

  • We do! We have a shower and toilet so you can get ready and head off to work or your next adventure.

  • For hot yoga we normally advise that if you are new to hot yoga, it’s not the time to start. However folks with a strong regular practice have been able to attend just fine with modifications. But the best advice we have is to consult your healthcare provider and listen to your body.

Contrast therapy is not advised for pregnancy, but again we are not doctors, so please consult yours before making this choice.
