what is modern ritual yoga?
Modern Ritual Yoga was born from the idea that everything in our daily lives is ritual. From the way we get our coffee in the morning or brush our teeth, our lives are filled with these little rituals. Modern Ritual Yoga is meant to be an everyday practice, a place for you to check in with how you’re feeling, build resilience, and learn to have a little fun while you move. It has been my dream to create a studio that centers its goals to embody the eight co-dependent dimensions of wellness; emotional, physical, occupational, social, spiritual, intellectual, environmental, and financial aspects of our life.
Meet the team
Laurel green-Founder/Director
Laurel found her way to hot yoga back in 2008 after a friend dragged her to a class. Two years later, she found herself in her first 200 hour teacher training with Gabriel Azoulay and Sumit. Since this training she has gone on to leading hot yoga teacher trainings and teach at numerous studios globally. Her classes focus on realistic mobility, consistency, humor, and most importantly good music.
Luke green- Co-Founder/ web master
Luke began his yoga journey in 2019. As a long time hospitality expert, he was looking for a way to alleviate mental stress and the physical toll from work. Luke looked to the good ol’ interwebs to find out more about yoga. You can find Luke making a mean spreadsheet and bringing order to the studio.
Who we are?
Here’s what we believe:
Firstly, we acknowledge the traditional CUSTODIans of the land we thrive on, the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation and pay respect to the elders past, present and emerging. Our Practice isn’t governed by yoga gurus or pay homage to harmful lineages. We lead from a place of education and equality.
We believe in heat, movement, and sick beats. We believe in science and safety. To learn to move safely and learn to acknowledge the way our bodies feel, instead of moving from the ego. Yoga is for all humans.
